The Houston Dynamo opened their 2012 season with a 1-0 win at the site of their last loss, the Home Depot Center.  This time it was against the "other" tenant, Chivas USA.

Overall, the Dynamo controlled the game and it was beginning to look like Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy would steal the show after several dangerous shots from the Dynamo were denied.  But, similar to last season, the Dynamo have a flair for the dramatic.  In stoppage time, the Dynamo threatened with a corner kick, but the ball was knocked out to Adam Moffatt.  Outside the box, Moffatt attempted a shot, but it was deflected right at the feet of defender Andre Hainault who was able to smoothly control the ball and fire in the winning shot.  Not exactly the game plan, but a win is a win.

While this is only the first game of the season, it did seem there were a couple areas that have fans talking.  Many comments were made after the game regarding Je-Vaughn Watson's performance.  What did you think about Watson starting in midfield rather than Luiz Camargo?  Additionally, Will Bruin had a number of good touches and I think this season will be a very bright one for the young forward.  In total, the Dynamo had 17 shots, with 8 on goal.

Six road games to go before the May 12th opening of BBVA Compass Stadium.
